Bean Soup Sets
One hundred and six bags of dry ingredients to make bean soup were assembled and delivered to Infant Welfare of Chicago's Angel Harvey Clinic to be distributed to families being serviced by the clinic. Thank you to Jewel at Danada in Wheaton and to Valli Produce of Glendale Heights for their help in our purchasing the canned tomatoes and the 16-bean dry soup mix needed to complete the bean soup sets. Thank you to our members Cathy McLaughlin and Judy Burnside for coordinating the Bean Soup project.
Each year the Wheaton-Naperville Infant Welfare Auxiliary awards a monetary scholarship to a senior from either Wheaton North or Wheaton/Warrenville South High School.
We are very pleased to announce that Madeline Cook of Wheaton North High School is our 2019 scholarship winner. Our scholarship is based on the student's four-year high school experience as it relates to volunteer activism, academics, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. A written essay on future educational and career goals, as well as what volunteerism has meant to the student, is also required. Many congratulations are extended to Madeline, and we wish her all the best as she starts her college journey!
In February the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago promoted National Children's Dental Health Awareness month, as sponsored nationally by the American Dental Association. To support their efforts to raise awareness about the importance of oral health, the Wheaton-Naperville Auxiliary assembled 144 bags of dental supplies for the families serviced by the Angel Harvey Clinic in Chicago.
The Wheaton-Naperville Auxiliary of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago thanks Bauer and Bauer Dental of Wheaton for donating ten cases of toothbrushes, Crest toothpaste, and mouthwash to the Angel Harvey Family Health Center for their Pediatric Dentistry Easter bags. This is the second year in a row Bauer & Bauer Dentistry and Orthodontics has surpassed our expectations. We thank you for your kindness and generosity!
